Policies and Ordinances

The Zoning Ordinance was first created in 1956 and has been revised numerous times through warrant articles at Town Meeting. Only the lastest version of the ordinance is valid for current projects, but older copies can help explain what was allowed when a previous project occurred.

These ordinances regulate the Riverland and West Road Beaches.

This ordinance makes it unlawful to make, continue, or cause to be made or continued any excessive, unnecessarily loud noise or any noise which annoys, disturbs, injures, or endangers the combort, repose, health, peace or safety of others within the Town of Canterbury.

This ordinance prohibits putting snow/ice in or across roads during private snow removal activities.

This ordinance is meant to encourage private homeowners and businesses to take responsibility for maintaining the mechanical reliability and proper use of their fire alarm systems, to prevent unnecessary fire emergency response to false alarms.

This ordinance authorizes payment of taxes using a credit card/debit card/etc.

This ordinance establishes and governs the Canterbury Depot Commerce Park.

This Code of Conduct applies to all Town Officials including elected and appointed Officials, and members/alternates of elected and appointed Boards, Committees, Commissions, and groups of Trustees. This Code of Conduct describes how Canterbury Officials treat each other and work together for the common good of the community.
