The Budget Committee is an advisory committee and meets with the Board of Selectmen several times throughout the year. They review the proposed budget for the Town of Canterbury submitted by the Selectmen and various departments. The result is a recommended budget presented to the public at the public budget hearing(s). Incorporating any changes as the result of the Public Hearing(s), the budget is then presented to the voters at Town Meeting.
When Do We Meet?
The Budget Committee attends Selectboard meetings as needed. Usually they meet in August, November, and December as the budget is being created for the upcoming year.
