New Community Power Rates Started August 1, 2025

Electric supply rates have been set by each utility and by the Community Power Coalition of NH (CPCNH) for the 6 months that begin August 1 and those rates will increase across the board. For the first time, CPCNH has set different rates for each utility based on the cost for CPCNH to serve each utility area.

– For Canterbury residents served by EVERSOURCE who receive their electric supply through CPCNH, the GRANITE BASIC (lowest) rate will be $0.13419/kwh.
— For Canterbury residents served by UNITIL who receive their electric supply through CPCNH, the GRANITE BASIC (lowest) rate will be $0.13729/kwh.
— Note: The electric supply rate is only part of your electricity bill. Other charges include a customer charge and charges for transmission and distribution which are not under CPCNH control. These charges still come from your utility.

Canterbury Community Power customers can choose to “opt up” to a special CANTERBURY BASIC rate slightly higher than the Granite Basic Rate, with additional funds accumulating to the reserve fund established at town meeting in March for use in future Canterbury energy projects. For residents who have opted up to that rate, your rate will be $0.00200/kwh higher than the rates cited above. To date, $5000 has been raised by residents who have paid the CANTERBURY BASIC rate.
